A summer birthday party is always a favorite among children. One of the more popular options will be to have a poolside party. Even if you do not have a pool, water activities with a sprinkler system will bring on so much fun. However it is important to let parents know in advance that there will be water games, so that they come prepared. They might want to bring a bathing suit, a change of clothing and other accessories.

With a pool, there are many options for games. Relay swimming is good because many children can take part and it gives them a sense of competition. The game of Marco Polo is a form of tag, often played in a swimming pool. Three or more people can play this game. In fact the more participants, the more fun it would be. At any time there is one distinguished player, “It”, who must usually wait a certain number of seconds before swimming around the pool with his or her eyes closed, attempting to tag the other players, The “It player can only sense where the other players are by sound, but call out “Marco”, at which point all the other players are required to yell “Polo!” When the “It” player succeeds in tagging another player, the latter becomes “It”.

Baby swimming classes are available almost everywhere, and the younger a child is when he or she is taught to swim the easier it will be for them to learn successfully. Why? Well, as you know, when in the womb a baby develops, begins to move and is eventually swimming in the amniotic fluid. So for about nine months the kid has already been a swimmer. (And from what I hear, they get pretty good at kicking during the nine months they are in there.)

Therefore, your baby should have little to no trouble adjusting to being in the water, he or she may even find it fun from minute one. They really are usually great at kicking, so that is where the instructors most often begin. You will be right there with your baby, and they will use a “marshmallow” or some sort of small floating device to keep the baby’s head above the water.

The ironman-uk will take place in Sherborne. Race-day is August 20, 2006 and the race begins at 6 a.m. As of mid-January, there were still spots available. 1500 athletes are expected for the race.

As with all Ironman races the you can expect a mass swim start. The course consists of two loops of Sherborne Lake and the cut-off time is 2 hours and 20 minutes.

When I was 14, we moved to Bermuda. My father was in the Canadian Armed Forces and this was the best posting we’d ever gotten. We were all very excited. We packed up only the stuff we really needed and put everything else nto storage. And I said goodbye to my best friend Cathy.

I was sad to leave behind my best friend but so excited to go to another country–and one so tropical. I remember that the trip was long. It seemed to take forever. I think we went by car, train and plane. Then we stepped off the plane. And were hit in the face with a wall of heat and humidty. In seconds we were drenched in sweat. It was July or August. Canadians should know better than to travel somewhere hot during summertime. Then again, we didn’t have a choice.

The city of Longview, Texas, is a Located off Interstate 20, a little over a hundred miles east of Dallas. It’s a town of about 70,000 people, and lately a lot of them have been talking about what is going on at a local business called Don’s Fly Thru Beer Barn.

You see, Don had a problem. His business requires folks to sit in their car and drive through a long garage-like building where customers can buy beer without getting out of their car. But when traffic got backed up a bit, people were getting impatient and driving off - and not buying any of Don’s beer.
