Land-dwelling mammals can to walk, run and jump. Salamanders, turtles and lizards also walk, but are often said to crawl. Termites and ants are among the many insects that walk a great deal too. Grasshoppers and crickets jump, but they also walk about slowly when they are eating. Even flying birds must be able to walk or hop on land. The garden snail produces a watery liquid that serves as a private lake. This snail rolls through this lake by contracting muscles that move its skin. This is also another form of animal movement on land.

Betta fishes live for approximately 2 to 5 years. The Fishes that are sold in pet stores are generally adults, so they have the fine lengthy fins, but that also shows that they are by now a year old. That shows that if your betta fish lives for more than 2-3 years after you purchase it, it’s a fine, long-lived fish.

The foods for bettas have a tendency to be more of a meat diet as compared to other fishes. A number of fishes are very particular about what they will or won’t consume. It’s totally special with every fish, although, and depends a great deal on what they were initially lived with. Most bettas will involuntarily be stuck on and consume all types of live food, brine shrimp, tubiflex worms, black worms, mosquito larvae, daphina, etc. But the majority of the people don’t like or aren’t capable of keeping the live food around always, so dry foods are developed for the fish. You can get pellets and special flakes for bettas from your nearby pet shop. However be aware that if your fish hasn’t eaten them earlier it might take some time for him to develop a taste to them or even to begin eating them. One more kind of dried food is the freeze-dried foods like bloodworms, brine shrimp, worms, etc. You can also train your betta fish to eat normal flake food that you feed the rest of your aquarium fishes and exchange that with the live foods.

Goldfish are susceptible to disease and once infected can have a greatly shortened life span. The most common reasons goldfish get sick are if the fish tank is dirty, due to poor filtration, the water and oxygen levels are too low, the temperatures are either too warm or too cold and being improperly fed. QUESTION: It is kind of gray/white…head looks like a praying mantis…6 legs…long round tail…3 or 4 long antenna at the end of the tail…it stays at the bottom of the tank, and yes when I disturbed it, it wiggled, twitched and franticly swam to the surface. It gives me the hebby gebbies to look at.

I have never had live plants in my tank before, and never anything like this in the 15yrs I have fish (no fish in the last 5 yrs) until the bettas. Could it have come with the plants? Does it lay eggs? I’m I going to have more (very creeped out)?

There are essentially 4 types of Cold water fish commonly found in aquariums. There are listed below together with their tips of care.

Gold Fish
Tips 1: Ideal temperature 18-24 °C (64-75 °F)
Tips 2: 60 Gallons tank for 3 fancy goldfish or 2 common or 2 comet goldfish. 2.5cm (1 in) of fish per 60 sq cm (9.3 sq in) of tank water surface area is the bare minimum. Remember we must base the calculations on the adult size of the fish.
Tips 3: A full-sized canister or hang-on filter
Tips 4: Use Air stone
Tips 5: Weekly water changes of 30-50%
Tips 6: No dangerous items in aquarium (decorations or rocks)
Tips 7: No Plecosotomus
